Q. Is it really free?
A. Yes. It's completely free, with no ads and no bundled software whatsoever.
Q. What's the difference between the installer and the portable (no-install) version?
A. The installer (setup.exe) automatically registers magnet/torrent file associations and firewall access. With the portable version, you just unzip it and run naru.exe — great for carrying on a USB drive.
Q. I get an "unknown publisher" warning during installation.
A. We haven't applied a code-signing certificate yet, so Windows SmartScreen may show a warning. Just click "More info → Run anyway" to proceed.
Q. Do I need to install anything else?
A. No. The download engine and the search runtime are all built in, so you can download and use it right away. (Windows 10/11, 64-bit)
Q. Can I use it alongside my existing torrent program?
A. Yes. Naru runs independently and doesn't affect other clients.
